Mo, I did think of a whistle, in fact I have put one here by the phone, but then I wondered if I could be accused of doing something illegal. Anyway, my scream is probably just as piercing.

Mo in Kent Report 6 Apr 2016 21:47

Huia, have you got a whistle, if you have give it a big blow when they refuse to answer next time love. But as Sylvia has said, it could be a computer generated call, we very often get them, they are a blessed nuisance, especially if you rush to answer the call when you are busy doing something important.

We have had a wonderful day, our Lilly and Ava came for a visit with their Daddy.
Lilly is still hyperactive, but her speech has come on in leaps and bounds since she has been at school.
Nothing has happened re her seeing a psychologist, it's a real shame how these things take such a long time to get sorted, she will be at secondary school before something gets done at this rate.

I hope everyone is well, only we are missing quite a few of our friends at the moment.
Take care dear friends, hugs from me to you, Mo xxx

Huia Report 6 Apr 2016 21:18

Sylvia, I have never heard of that. I might talk to the telecom people some time, ask what can be done about it.

SylviaInCanada

SylviaInCanada Report 6 Apr 2016 20:00

Huia ............

are you sure it is not a computer-generated call, where the system calls several numbers at the same time? The first one to pick up the phone gets the call (usually selling something or that famous "something wrong with your computer), the others all get nothing at the other end.

Huia

Huia Report 6 Apr 2016 07:29

For several days now, my phone has rung in the afternoon or early evening. I pick it up and say good afternoon/evening. There is no reply. I have even shouted HULLO. But then a click as they hang up. This afternoon I said "if you are not going to talk to me I will scream" and they promptly hang up. I doubt if this is a criminal action, just a nuisance. Next time I answer the phone I wont say anything but will moan as if I am in agony, see what happens. I think I will have to get on to telecom to see if they can trace the calls.

It was lovely today and we went to Abbotsbury gardens where the Rhododendrons, Camelias and Magnolias were lovely while there we saw six Red Kites overhead and in the garden a beautiful male pheasant and a Golden pheasant. We came back to Burton B and ate our rolls in the NT car park by the sea. There was a cold wind but we were able to sit out by the car where it was sheltered to eat. Then sat in the garden when we got back. Tomorrow and the rest of the week it looks like rain though which is a shame.

Cooee everyone.

Welcome AnnNorthamptonshire, cor that's a long title, we shall have to give you a nickmane, any suggestions ?
I am sure one of our dear friends will come up with a suitable name Ann.

Well done Ann in Glos for our nudge up,I have been a bit remiss in posting.

I have been busy out in the garden today.
We went to the Nursery and bought a few plants, only Pinks and Pansies, we shall have to go back next week for some more, so many of the planters are still empty, and we need a bit more colour out there, it's mostly greenery with the shrubs etc.
And guess what, I had fed and watered the new plants, and now it's tipping it down with rain LOL

Ann in Glos, I hope your journey went well, now enjoy yourselves love.
I hope your grandson is home and doing well now.

Jean,I hope you didn't get Pizza over your cards love, ooops I forgot, you were clearing up before J served it up.

Sallie, here's hoping these past few days has been kind to you sweetheart.

Well it's a bye bye for now girls, speak to you again very soon. Hugs Mo xxx

Sallie good to hear all your news. Hope jennie gets the cold sore cleared up soon. winter is not a good time for her immune system to be low. Nice for them to be able to go away for the weekend, and lovely for you to see your friends. Pleased that you liked the cards on the blog. I have quite a box full of cards now which is good when birthdays creep up on me.

Jean the post is all over the place. The last post from post boxes in our village, except for the post office (which is 4.30pm) is 9am in the morning, and 7am in some of them. so letters have to be posted the day before we think they need posting. I can't remember if I thanked you for your pretty card but anyway, even if I did, thanks you it is lovely.

We go to Dorset tomorrow, but I will still be in touch.

Heard yesterday our fourth grandson was in hospital under observation for sickness and stomach pains, they suspected appendicitis but then they ruled it out. last we heard was that he would go home today but we haven't heard anything. Fingers crossed he is home and it was probably a bug of some sort. :-)

Hi, Sallie, It was posted so you would get it in time for Easter, still never mind, glad you liked it . I have made some more and taken pics of them I cant remember how to put them on , D always did it, so I will have learn how to do it , we have just been sitting out in the garden quite sunny but hard on the bum.....lol... the man who likes to garden was planting peas and carrots,he has had a severe stroke and does very well.
the park is full of children lovely to see.sadly we have no flowers as yet, maybe some will show later.

We are supposed to go out for a meal tomorrow, but I would rather not, we always ending up paying for it all :-| :-| :-| I am turning into a real grumpy old maid :-D :-D

Its been a lovely day and now it looks as though a lovely evening too.
we have a great view from here although the two long corridors are a bit of a bind, there is only one lift and its right at the opposite end from where we are.

time for another cuppa I think see you soon love Jean xxx

Jean, thank you for your Easter card, it arrived yesterday morning, Tuesday. It is lovely, given me some ideas for some wedding cards.

Sorry to hear that D has lost her car, I hope that she will be able to get car that she needs very soon.
Hope that J is okay and that you are feeling better and that you are managing to cope.

Jennie, is okay at the moment, thank you. She went to see the Consultant last week, and she has taken her off the medication she is on just for a while, so that she can get
a cold sore and one or two minor things cleared up. She had an appointment at the dentist to have a couple of fillings, but until the cold sore clears up, won't be able to have them. Goodness knows how long that will take, the medication that she has to inject into her leg is very good for her Crohn's, but it lowers her immune system, so just lately she has had one thing after another.

Ann, just looked at your cards on the craft blog, as Jean said, ' a lovely selection.

I still have quite a few cards to make, a couple of birthday cards, new home and new job cards and of course wedding cards and some get well cards for Alun. I hope that I will manage to make them all. lol!!

Mo, it was nice to have a dry day today, we stripped the two beds and washed the bedding and managed to get it dried out on the line...... oh they smell lovely and fresh when they are dried outside.

I hope that you and Roly had a nice Easter. Michael's mum and dad have a static caravan in Mablethorpe, on the Lincolnshire coast, so Jennie and Michael went there on Thursday until Sunday evening, so Alun and I had a quiet Easter weekend.

Although we did have a surprise visit from some old friends that we haven't seen for a couple of years, even though they only live the other side of Nottingham. They arrived
about ten to three and left about ten past eight, as you can imagine we all didn't stop talking.lol!! We had so much news to catch up on.
Jennie and Michael were home about seven, so it was nice that they were able to see them too.

Huia, I hope that you have been able to sort out all the business with your house, with no problems.

Also hope that you are okay and are still able to work in the charity shop.

Like our other friends on here, I was shocked to hear about houses etc., having to be demolished if it becomes contaminated by people growing drugs in them.

Sylvia, like Mo, I was very naive about drugs and dealers until Jennie and Michael moved into the flat they lived in, the other side of town. I know over the sixteen months they lived there, a couple of drug dealers moved into the block of flats. One of them lived in one of the ground floor flats in the block that J & M lived in. Sometimes, when we went in through the main entrance to visit them on the first floor, you could actually
smell them. Of course, me being me, I use to ask what that funny smell was, and told to be quiet, until we got into J & M flat. They would then tell me what the smell was.

It was one of the reasons why they moved in with us. There were people back and forth through the night buying drugs off one or other of the dealers that lived there.
We were glad when Jennie and Michael moved in with us. They were telling us, that it was very noisy for hours through the night, with doors opening and then slamming shut. Michael was happy to get a good nights sleep again when they moved in with us,as he had to get up for work at quarter past five every morning.

Well, I am off to bed now as it is very late and have to get up early because we have to go to Derby early tomorrow morning, or this morning now.

Take care everyone.

Speak to you soon.

Love, Sallie. xxx <3 <3 <3
