Farmer in the field yesterday ploughing over what seemed like unplanted land, it's only at the bottom of the garden about 30 yards away from the houses and a huge field. He was out spreading something like lime last week.
I just heard a noise half an hour ago, looked out and there he is working on the field, in the dark!!!!!

It happened one year at harvesting, I heard the heavy plant start up and lights go on and they were crisscrossing the field so I thought yobs had got in and started up the machinery and so I phoned the farmer, we have his number for when the yobs set fire to the bales of hay, and asked him if he should come and check. Turned out he was answering me on his mobile in his hand while he was finishing the harvesting, again in the dark and it was his men helping so the area was lit up enough to see. Does he really not think that people need their sleep, not everyone along here is a night owl like me!

Pity about your disturbances but farmers at that time of year work nearly 24/7, it's the only way they can get all the work done.
Things havn't changed in fifty odd years ,i can remember exactly the same senario when i lived in the middle of the farming community.in 1950 Fred

Have to give him credit, he or someone taking over from him, was working till late afternoon, looked like they were planting spuds, would it be the right time of year for this, he was digging trenches and then something going in and then covering over the trenches.

One year he told me the potatoes were specially grown to be made into Pringles, presumably mashed down and then formed to the shape? i mean he wasn't growing uniformly sized spuds lol
