Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 19 Apr 2009 23:10

Have just heard from my sisters friends in Canada and she may be going home Monday or Tuesday, Her neurosurgeon has been away for a long weekend , back tomorrow, and he is going to assess her and check her medication then all being well she's on her way home after 5 weeks in Hospital. This last week she has been doing so well with only a smattering of confusion and memory loss here and there. She is showing all signs of the old Lynne being back.
I am so pleased. What a lucky girl she has been and what marvellous nursing care she has had.
Well done the Royal Columbian Hospital ,New Westminster ,BC
Shirley

Update She came home Tuesday afternoon.Cant mange her split level house stairs at the mo but other than that she just needs to get her bearings, have her physio. and practice her brain exercises they have given her re her confusion etc, All in all she is doing really well

Thank you Sallie & Dianne
Its been a BIG worry especially being all these miles apart. She has her hubby and daughter & SIL & grandson and her two very special friends that they have known for over 40 years ,Doug was their best man when they married here in the 1960.s. But all her siblings and other family are here in the UK. My phone has been buzzing as i have been passing on the email info that her friends have been sending me on BIL behalf ,he has been staying at the hospital right up to last week when he was able to get home every other day or so.

Excellent news, Shirley, I do hope Lynne continues to do well at home and can put this behind her. It's a testament to the hospital and all who have helped care for her including her family and friends. You must be over the moon.
