The world smells of old ladies' knickers and I am sneezing like a good un.

The oil seed rape must be back in bloom!

It's in bloom here alright Sharron, but I'll take your word for old ladies bloomers - lol - I dont think I've smelled any to compare!

My eyes have been itching like blue blazes this last couple of days, so it could be the Rape. Is it early this year???

It is the oil that cause the itching, and lavender can do the same.
Oil seed rape is heavy pollen, pollinated by bees and not wind.
Plenty of other pollen around causing the problem. Rape is blamed because you can see it. Lots of tree pollen around at the moment.
I loved the smell of the flowers, but what does smell is the old cabbage smell of the damp leaves.

They couldn't smell any worse than now! Anyway, they will be completely rotted away by then.

It's not really a matter of one day, more like any minute now.

Sorry, am pmsl, but that won't help with the smell so better be careful and get the tenas! I have never noticed the smell of rapeseed crops, hope the farmer doesn't choose that for a crop next year, it looks like spuds this year as he has just finished sowing something in trenches, he grew some one year to be made into Pringles!
