Good afternoon all.

I am looking to down load an antivirus, hopefully free, at the moment I am using Avast ! Anyone know of anything better.

I use Avast, myself, but I understand that AVG is good, also. The thing with Avast is that, whilst you have to register to keep it up to date, it does do a great job for free, and I have read of many experts who have recommended it. Google for general help and advice with anti-viral software.

Thank you Meriwether

I did have Mcaffee, useless. Every time it uploaded updates my computer would freeze.

If you put in Google
the top 10 anti virus software and click on that site it takes you to this

The top one is Shield which myself and son have it has been the top one for quite a while now. Their tech help is marvelous (and free) and they will take you through the problem step by step.

I should point out we only needed that help once for a nasty Trojan worm. It is not expensive but like most things you get what you pay for.
It does a daily scan when I boot up my computer and sorts out any possible problems then.

My friend has just had it and she is able to put it on the 3 computers in her home (she paid £15) for the 3 licences or whatever they are called.
