I know from the birth record that her father's surname was Harvey and her mother's surname was Justice I have no idea of their christian names. How can I trace them. I have used loads of credits checking mariages guessing a date but they dont show both surnames

	a William Henry Harvey and a Louisa Mary Justice appear on the same page married in Bristol 4Q 1907 6a/438, is that any use to you ?

I was looking around 1890. I will apply for my mum's birth certificate. I am very new to this so any hints will be most gratefully received. Once again thanks very much. Also one more question does EVERY death have to be reccorded I cannot find record of my step father's death and my mum had a still born child in 1935?36 but I cannot find any recod of birth or death

	In theory all deaths should be on the index but some may well have been missed off. Stillbirths wouldn't appear. There is a separate index for those. In which area was your Mum born and do you know her older brothers name or roughly when he might have been born?

Member Since: August 2008 Posts: 7 Send Message	My mother was born in Bristol in 1913 her older brothers were William and George. I am assuming that they were all born in Bristol. She had more brothers and sisters younger than her, they were called joyce,lillian,jean,raymond. I have seached for these also but with limited amount of information to their birth dates It is a huge amount of guess work. I have contacted people with trees with these names in but have had no reply as yet.

	If your mother was born in 1913 and a marriage with those surnames shows in 1907 - even with one or two older brothers - it's likely that it is the right marriage. Do you have your mum's birth cert? Jill

	I think the marriage you've been given here then is highly likely to be the right one as it's in the right area. If you get your Mum's birth cert as has already been suggested, it will confirm her parents names. Unless you have reason to believe that her brothers were 23 years or so older than her - seems unlikely.

	Searching on 1911 for anyone in same household as Louisa Harvey there is quite a list. William Charles Harvey born 1910 William Henry Harvey 1885 George Alfred 1910. Plus others - but the names fit so could be worth a look. Jill

Member Since: August 2008 Posts: 7 Send Message	Thanks thanks thanks to everyone of you for all of your replies. You have found my mother's family for me. I did say that I was knew to this, and when I dsimissed the first reply it was because I was guessing that my grandmothe would have been around 20-25 when she had my mum so I worked back to her BIRTH date rather than her marriage date. I promise to try harder!!!!! And re-check my facts before I ask for help in future.
