It used to be the Norm,Weekends getting dressed up and going out, having a drink in a decent pub or having a meal out, it was enjoyable with no trouble or hassle, now its not so nice,no one seens to care about their appearance or how they behave, also the factor that its far to expensive now for what you get,and if you do go out the added cost of transport(Taxis) It seems its easier and cheaper to stay home, one of the good things in life which have "unfortunately" have been lost.**M**.

Too you both good girls - your lucky to find a pub open still around these parts, summat closes every week. Never been to a casino, you'd have to either go into Nottingham or Derby for that. Reminds me of a story from about 45yrs ago. A cousin went to one in Nottingham, and the family found out.Oh my God, you'd have thought he had committed a cardinal sin, and his mam gave him a clip around the ear even though he was over 21. Always think of it when I see him

When I think that I couldn't have imagined not going out on a Saturday night, NOW I much prefer to stay in. Just wish they had something worth watching on the TV

Up and till about 2 years ago we used to get dressed up and go out...I used to love it ...I stopped drinking because of a personal reason ..what I mean is getting drunk I am not teetotal but only have about 2 or 3 now...and even when we do go out its mostly to the casino as I enjoy it there I very rarely drink...I think I am old coz the pub scene is not like it used to be

ooh Julia sounds nice...

we dont have a local pub as such as live in the sticks, nearest is 3 miles so its a cab, and that works out expensive, so we have a drinky poohs at home. We normally make an effort Saturday nights food wise. I dress the table up and OH normally does a steak, but tonight we fancy a chilli, so I'll be doing that later. We're home people and tbh I can't be bothered to go out much............it's me age I think....(35) lol

How many of us bother about getting dressed up and going out on a Saturday night, these days. We stopped going out to the pub, years ago, thought we do drink in. Then it got to going out for a meal for 'occassions'. Now, we are too old to be bothered. But I do like my Saturday evening meal to reflect that I had gone out for it, although we do not go as far as dressing up for it. So tonight, I am making Fillet Steak with Wild Mushroom Sauce,Potatoes Dauphinoise, Green Beans and Asparagus, seved with a nice glass of chilled Rose.
What's everyone else having.
