I think my daughter has fell out with me????

I think it was from last night???

She suddenly announced that on the 9th May she is going to Wet and Wild centre with her friend. Both her dad and I said at the same time you can't as we are going out that night. We have tickets for a Annual Reunion Dinner Dance, she said that she would be back in time but we said no she couldn't go.

So off she stomped to her room, briefly said good night when her dad told her to knock her light off.

She hardly had a word to say to me this morning, very curt replies when asked anything.

I did ask if I had upset her or if anything was wrong but one word answers NO.

She never even looked back when I seen her out to school normally she looks back and either smiles or waves, even the kiss on the cheek was cold.

It has really kicked me into touch cause she is always so chatty and happy and I see her as my friend too.

Any advice she is only 13.

Well,maybe you could come to some form of compromise,so you can both go out

She is probably very disappointed I think yet I would also think that she hurts too, will be reflecting. Teenagers tend to 'stomp' to their rooms leaving others thinking they are angry whereas, even with boys, they are shedding tears and more.

Perhaps a compromise as Granny Mo has suggested, that sounds like a good idea. Such a shame as you must be so excited about your impending Annual Renewal.

Mo if I thought she would be back for 5.30/6pm I wouldn't mind but as we are on the other side of the country to where the centre is its on the North east coast and we are on the north west its about an hour and half to two hours run and they are not setting off till about 11. It won't be giving them much time to enjoy themselves.

She knew fine well that we were going out that night as it has been planned long enough and we were only talking about it at teatime.

I don't go out much (her dad pointed this out to her) and I am really looking forward to seeing old friends again.

Could she not stay at her friends for the night ?
That would be a solution

Any other time it would be fine but not this time unfortunatly.

hi my advice would be to talk to her when she gets in from school and explain to her how you have been loking forward to this night out as you dont go out often she could maybe have friend over to sleep when you have your night out but stick to your guns dont back down part of life is not always getting things your way something we all have to learn im sure she will get over it didnt we when our mums said no to us bless she is at that age to which doesnt help i remember a lot of slamming doors and god being said when my daughter was that age lol you deserve things to

As far as she is concerned the world revolves around her(very natural at that age)and she has simply disregarded the fact that it is a rare night out for you.
Your concerns are perfectly reasonable and your daughter will live.
All teenagers throw wobblies when they dont get there own way she is well loved and she will get over it.
Dont back down whatever you do or she will think that a tantrum will have you jumping her way all the time,just be loving and ignore the nonsense and she will come around its hard to keep up the front for long.

I have no intention of backing down as I am as stubborn as she is lol. She is a good girl really and easy to talk to, she does listen to reason also.

It's just the feeling of rejection this morning that got to me as she is a loving girl always full of hugs and cuddles. We've brought our kids up to be open with their feelings with us. Even my 11 yr old son (well he will be next week lol) still sits on his dads and my knee for a cuddle. He even holds my hand when in town lol.

Am so looking forward to a good meal and a lot to drink pmls

Girls do that honestly she doesnt mean any of it and when it has no effect she will snap out of it.she is probably feeling a bit rotten already

Pity she couldn't persuade her friends to leave a lot earlier than 11. Then she could be back in time. She's obviously feeling disappointed and resentful because her friends will be having fun without her. Life is like that sometimes though as she is finding out.

also she is out at army cadets tonight so she will hopefully cheer up as she loves it.

Mama, just to let you know the strops will carry on for a long time to come,do they ever grow out of them, lol, l still have them !!!!!!!!!!! . When my daughter used to have them she'd clump up the stairs and bang her bedroom door shut, then l would call her back down and tell her to walk back up the stairs properly and to shut her door quietly, if she stropped up again same thing would happen,l always won, wasn't me having to keep going up and down stairs, lol.

can you not let her go and tell whoever is minding them for the night to let you no while your out that she is home safe?

she will probly forget anout it by the time she comes home from
