Does anyone know where the abbreviation 'Blkbn wt dar' is? am thinking blackburn? this area is from 1998.

Could it be Blackburn with Darwin?

I'm not sure how close the 2 places are to each other.

Just had a look. Sorry it is spelt Darwen with an E not an I.

Registers were transferred from Blackburn Registration District to Darwen Registration District in 1937.

Yes, I think you've worked it out Dianne.
Google map comes up as "Blackburn with Darwen".

Darwen is about 3 miles south of the centre of Blackburn.
