Hi Dutch, try not to worry, at least Rachel has been to see about things and the doctors have turned the baby, they will keep a better eye on her now and look after them both.

She must be fed up tho with all she has been through so far, hope things go more smoothly now.

My thoughts and prayers go out to Rachel at this worrying time. But as Liz has said Dutch, she is in good hands and at least the doctors now are going to keep an eye on her and the baby.

best wishes

My daugther was in Scotland when she had Caitlin, Was ill all the time

Then ended having C section just in time.

I just wanted to be near her but couldnt get up there at the time.

You feel so help less dont you?

Hello again.

Does Rachel have a good neighbour service or perhaps a nearby church with reputable people who could offer practical support in her area?

In many areas, these schemes quietly work away.

Or how about the senior midwife at the hospital offering some support? She or a GP would have access to lots of organisations and people that could help Rachel.

That is the whole point of patient care!

Offhand, I can only think of Birthright and Gingerbread organisations but there are others. Even NHS Direct
will hold information. They can be contacted all the time.

Tell Rachel to quietly but firmly make her needs known.

Hope this helps.

Hello Dutch....l am sorry to hear this Dutch, but you must'nt get yourself worked up about it, it won't help you or Rachel, nor the baby if Rachel knows you are worrying too much!!!! all of which l know is easier said than done, but try.
Elizabeth is right she should make her needs known, but at the same time she can call an ambulance if needed!!

It was lovely talking to you last night, you're a gem:o))
Take care....ok

Mommylonglegs Report 28 Apr 2009 23:53

Hi Dutch, could your Granddaughter be further on in her pregnancy than she thinks.?

How many WEEKS is she rather than months?

A baby during the 5th month of pregnancy weighs around one pound and about 12 inches long.

I personally, would have thought that it would be extremely difficult to 'turn' a baby at such a small size. Ok, if she was 32 to 34 weeks.

There really should be someone to help and advise at her surgery, surely there should be a Midwife available? Lets face it what happens if a few 'Full Term' Mum's go into labour whilst the Midwife is on holiday!!!

Is this a first baby by any chance?
