After loosing my work twice through computer break downs I cannot emphasize enough back up back up and back up ;;;get into the habit of doing it every week at least ;;

I have to admit TWG that I have Family Tree Maker too. Have tried a few different ones, but I think it's about the best of the bunch.

I too have just uploaded my tree to Ancestry, and I have also got Family Tree Maker, good idea to back your work up.

Family Search is not complete Sandie, that's probably why you can't find your family on there.

Sue was trying to explain that you can download a free family tree programme from the Family Search site to save all your information on. This was the first family tree programme I ever used, and is a pretty good one to start off with.

Well said Sue......Over the last week I have uploaded my tree on to Ancestry and Tribal Pages as well as having Family Tree Maker on my computer.

This site was playing up last night you couldn't get on the boards.
What if this site went down altogether and lost all your hard work.
To those of you that just have their info on Genes, now is the time to get a programme for your hard work you can download a free one from Family Search site.
