Then they transfered under TUPE so still have the same rights.

Redundancy pay after 2 years employment (you get none if you have worked for less than 2 years) one week for each year under the age of 42 over 42 it's one and a half weeks. I believe (but I,m not sure) that if a firm is in liquidation they only pay redundancy up to 12 weeks though.

Check the government sites.

'Twas ever thus Poppie.
Disgusting.
I doubt if it will do any good but I will certainly sign for the workers, bless them.

When they changed over they continued under Ford's Terms&Conditions for life as in the agreement.

In Google search type TUPE it will give you various sites that explain the law of transfers. You can also visit government sites re the laws regarding cestation of employment. Try also ACAS.

I have signed. I guess it is a legal scam, they can do it because of the name change, so it is a 'new' company and therefore they have not worked for them long enough to get redundancy. The Government should not allow these loopholes.

If they transfered from one company to another they have the same rights with the new company as they had with the old. The transfer comes under TUPE.

The company I worked for went into liquidation and the workers got 3 months pay for no notice plus redundancy pay. A government agency sorts this out.

What a scandal. I have signed.

My own son is being badly treated by the company he works for, as are his colleagues. It isn't right.

I hope your husband can find other employment soon, you must be very worried.

Didn't the banks effectively go into administration? Hence we - the people - whether we wanted to or not - bailed them out? Then the bar stewards who caused the failure received vast pay outs - an one in particular a rather hefty pension!!!
It's soooo wrong!

HI Poppie,
That's disgusting - why aren't they entitled to redundancy?
If they paid into a pension scheme - where has the money gone?
Bl**ding bankers got their money - why can't ordinary workers?
I've no doubt the Visteon managers have got a lot out of this.

I've signed the petition

Hello All
My husband is one of the Visteon/Ford workers who has been sacked after 32 yearsof loyal service with No notice, redundancy or pension.

Please sign the petition to help workers win respect - and be paid what they're owed No more No less. You can sign the petition to by going to: http://www.savemanufacturing.co.uk/sayno

Over 600 loyal, but sacked Visteon workers are now fighting for justice from their employers. Last month they were sacked by the components company with only moments' notice, denied redundancy pay and the pensions they'd saved years for and were promised when they transferred from their previous company, Ford. Unite believes Ford were complicit in helping Visteon make the most of weak UK labour laws to put these workers out of a job. You can help these workers by signing the petition by going to:

Thank you very much
