also if you are now on Windows Live there isnt a send button any more you have to press return for the reply to send.I had the same problem when I upgraded to Live.It didnt tell you how to "send" I was seeing my sisters words but I was only sending scrawls .

Margaret at the bottom of the message screen there is an A next to that there is a symbol...like a triangle ish ... if you have clicked on that by accident it will try 'handwriting, make sure the A is on top

Nice to meet you as well, I signed out went back in but it is the same if I can write a message I can't send it and If I can send it ican only do funny lines I do not understand it at all
