thanks linda, the brompton ralph one is definitely the right one I recognise the names of his brothers and sisters. Unfortunately there is no one still alive who might know his regiment. I'll try george's suggestion and contact Lesley. |

great linda thanks a bunch. it certainly sounds like him. His mother was Elizabeth but i don't know if her middle name was Alice or not. I'm not very computer literate what do i have to do yo get the images if you download them? Sorry to be a pain. |

There is this one, someone has added a correction. When I look at the images, it is for William John Webber, there are 12 images all together. It says his next of kin is his mother Elizabeth Alice Webber. Is this the correct person? |

WW1 service records are on Ancestry, if you post name and any other details Dob, place of birth. anything at al, to see if his records survived as over 70% of these records were destroyed in WW2 |

Is there any way of tracing the service history, or even finding out a little bit about what he did if you don't know the regiment he served in? |
