Those are the options you get from the Firefox download Utility.

Make a note of the file name, then click on Open Containing folder. This will open your internet temp folder where you will see a list of files that have been loaded onto your computer as a result of your recent browsing. In there will be the file that you have just downloaded.

Right Click the file you have downloaded and you should now see a new list of oprions, including one to check with your ant-virus program the file, as per Brian's instructions.

If you right click on the file it should give you the option of scanning it with your anti-virus.

I have downloaded something from the internet using Firefox but have not yet opened it. I ran the usual virus scan on the computer.
Would this automatically check for a virus on this unopened download or just my computer. I have PC security Shield Deluxe as my antivirus spyware etc.

Thank you
Pat
