Having had a break from family tree research, I am having trouble with the new style family tree, for example if I look at my mothers earliest ancestors and come forward in time down the line, the tree stops with my mothers parents and my mother and all her siblings do not automatically show as they did before. If I start with myself and go backwards in time there is not a problem. I am even having trouble explaining the problem!! Does anyone understand what I mean? If not I will try again to explain it again. HELP!!

Helen, I may be wrong but is it because you are looking at the tree in sections, ie clicking on descendents and then ancestors in stead of the full tree?

Of course not fully understanding what you mean, I may be talking out of me rear end lol.

If its not that, then I dont know.

Thanks for reply. i may be doing this all wrong then. If I click on myself, my husband and children will then show up. If I click on my grandmother, her husband and siblings will show, but not her children, including my mother.
Any suggestions, am I just being thick or is there a problem with my tree? Thanks, Helen.

Think I have got it sorted. When you go into view your tree the options on the tool bar say

View: Immediate family : Full tree : Ancestors : Descendents:

So when you go into your tree you will notice that Immediate Family is enboldened. So therefore when you click onto your family meaning you, your immediate family appears. Thus if you click onto your father, his immmediate family appear but not the wife. Therefore by clicking onto grandfathers will bring up his immediate family and siblings. If you click onto your grandfathers wife it will then bring up her immediate family.

So to view the whole tree you need to click onto the whole tree.

Phew! I think thats what is happening - does that make sense Helen?
