Just like to say my sister and I have a saying when we are being "nosey"

"its not nosey - its being Concerned! lol

loved reading and finding out about the poor old dears. May they rest in peace - together.

Oh bless them... and their poor son.
Burying them together must have been awful, bless him.
I must admit to worrying about leaving our son all on his own.
He has a partner, so she will look after him.... hopefully, but we are very close.
Oh boy.... just in time for bed, I find something to cry about!!

Well I have to admit that I too would have been that interested.
I hope it is not too sad.... going together would have been a good thing for an old couple.

Interesting, but sad! I wonder if the son is healthy, sounds as tho their diet and way of life, i.e. smoking ? or what they ate etc caused their problems and if he was brought up the same way...... might have been a wakeup call for him..

Dorothys death cert arrived this morning.

Guess what? She died the same day of exactley the same thing as William did!

1a. Coronary Insuffiency
b. Atherosclerosis

Name of informant...thier Son Stephen.

How awful that must of been for Stephen? Burying both his Parents on the same day!
I wish they had put the time of death on the cert! Oh! well...cant have it all lol

Dorothy was 44 days older than William. They died on the 4th of the 4th 1972.
Thier house number was....wait for it!....4!

They Married in 1921... 1+9+2+1=13....1+3=4

I think if i were Stephen i would avoid anything to do with the number 4! lol

I was looking for William as a christian name but none born that year.

Thanks for the offer of a look. I don't live too far from there myself but it's quite a remote part of my tree.

Curious now though what the wife died of in your little find :-)

my great grandparents died within week of each other i order bvoth death certs,and they both died of the same thing that was in 1924 ,hope this helps

William is his Christian name not his Surame. I havent put the Surname of the Family!

Atherosclerosis (ath-er-o-skler-O-sis) is a disease in which plaque (plak) builds up on the insides of your arteries.

I bet he smoked!

Also this... (Hypertension)=High Blood Pressure

Death cert arrived this morning....

William died on 4th April 1972.

Cause of death...

1a. Coronary Insufficiency
b. Atherosclerosis
11. Hypertension

Ceritfied by the Coroner after postmortem without inquest.

Death informant...His Son Stephen.

Williams occupation was Solicitors Legal Executive (retired)

t's nice that someone is still looking after the grave 37 years later! Wonder if it's grandchildren as their children would be quite old now.

I have just had a look on my tree as i have a couple of families from Kings langley but can't see any William's born in 1896 -(

When i was very young and went with my Mum to help tend her Family grave. I used to have a wander round.

There was a tiny grave at the top near the road of a baby 4 days old.
That grave had fresh flowers onit all the years i was growing up. I'm now 60 and i still look in on that little babys grave. The flowers stopped appearing about 10 years ago.
Now and then i leave a single flower on it and pull out any nasty weeds.

That little mite died before i was born! So very sad but at the same time lovely that someone loved that baby for all that time.

Hi Gerri, hope you are ok. I was looking at graves yesterday too, in a local church where we went to a craft fair and not really linked to my family in any way. It was so sad there was a stone for a lad who had died tragically on his 17th birthday, there was a garden area with it which had a rose bush and some other plants on, but a few weeds, next to it was his Dad's grave, no garden just a headstone and then the rest grassed over, obviously the lad was an only child and now the woman is on her own, maybe moved away, there is no one to tidy the son's grave. I did feel for the poor woman, now on her own, when she should be enjoying the comfort of a son and probably grandchildren.
Funny old life, I felt I wanted to know what happened to the lad.

ETA for death cert 11th May

Hubby still thinks certs are free....so Sshhhhhhh lol

On my way home from work today I popped into see my Mum and Sister (both buried in Kings Langley, Herts)

I noticed a well groomed grave close to my Sisters.
This couple died on the same day! Both aged 76.

I came home and looked them up on Ancestry.

William was born 9th Sept 1896 and his Wife Dorothy was born 23rd Oct 1896.
I'm now tempted to buy one death cert.
How come they died on the same day? It must have been awfull for the Family left behind!

They had been Married for 51 years (yes i looked for and found thier marriage)
....and i think they had 8 Children!

Am I being too nosey?.....OK! yes i AM nosey lol. I want to find out how come they died on the same day!

I also found Williams Family back to 1816.

Dont ya just love this hobby? lol
