About a month ago I had a bad dose of the flu. I coughed so much that my lungs ached and head wanted to bust.

The pain in my back has not gone away and is getting worse. Moving my left arm brings shooting pains in the region of my shoulder blade. The problem is I have no idea as to whether it is bone, lung or a muscular problem. Being 100 % left handed does not help as I automatically reach with my left hand to pick up or carry anything. Any ideas, besides seeing a doctor.

Thanks

Lindy ;))

Hi Lindy!

Sorry you are in pain love. I've no idea what it could be, but I think you should see the Doctor: did you have a chest infection when you had the flu, cos in Jan. when I got a dose of it mine developed into a chest infection and I had pain in my shoulder blade area. A dose of antibiotics cleared it up in a couple of days or so.

Hope you feel better soon. Jackson sends a lick!

Love to the babies.

Thanks Keith.

Hiya Jac,

I did have a chest infection but did not take any antibiotics as I pop so many pills as it is. Instead took flu medication and two bottles of cough syrup. Thanks, maybe I will have to just see the old bag of a doctor.

The babies are no longer babies but two destructive naughty children who have started fighting over anything as they are so very jealous of each other. Strokes to old Jackson.

Hi. Lyndy,
I went to scotland in march to visit my cousin and came back with a right old dose of flu , coughing non stop and constant headache, didn't visit the doctor as she would have said it was a virus and to take painkillers and I was doing that anyway , My ribs were huring so much I thought I had done some serious damage, anyway on a lighter note I am fine now and no more aching ribs or cough.

hope you feel better soon, keep taking the tablets.
jean.

P.S.I am not saying you shouldn't visit your doctor , everyone is different .

Hi Lindy
You need to see a doctor as the possibilities of what the problem is are varied.
Shoulder pain like that can be directly muscular or can be referring from another organ so you need a good check up

Morning Ladies,

Thanks for the advice and I am going to make an appointment with my doctor.

I know I am behaving like a naughty child but I have been avoiding my doctor and have not been for my six monthly checkups like I am supposed to. The old bag of bones always sends me for blood and urine tests, then when the results come back I get a long lecture of do's and don'ts if my cholesterol and blood pressure is a bit high.

If the results are within the parameters and there is nothing to lecture me about she has a go at my weight. I don't need her to tell me I am overweight, all I have to do is look in the mirror, which I don't. I come from a line of top heavy overweight woman.

Moan over!

Noooooo! Rosalyn, ..lol..we can't blame the "swine flu" for all aches and pains.

Have a good day everyone!

Lindy ;))))))))))

Maybe you have a frozen shoulder or the start of one Lindy, hope the doc isn't too snooty and you get sorted out soon so you can feel better. I have had lots of shoulder problems including frozen shoulder and the pain can be debilitating.

Evening Liz and everyone else,

It is just a pulled muscle from all the coughing that is not healing. As I said, being totally left handed does not help at all.

I would have been better off if it was my right side.

Thank you all for your concern.

Lindy ;))))
