Yesterday I contacted a person through the Search Trees facility, for information about a person they had in their tree, who was of the same name as someone I am trying to trace. I didn't ask to look at their tree, as I think that is a bit forward at the initital contact stage. I wrote " I see you have a **** ***** in your tree. Would you please elaborate a little to see if it is the same person I am looking for".
This morning, she had replied "**** ***** is the aunt of ******** *****".
Yes I know, she didn't have to reply at all, but I wasn't asking who'se aunt she was. I wanted to know the usual information. I f I hadn't got used to the way people answer, it would have put me off using the facility again. But, I did wonder how it would make someone feel who was not used to the system. Yes, I know some people, but not all, are name collectors, and do not know anything about the people they have in their tree.

Maybe that's all the information she has on that person. It could be that the person you are referring to is only a twig loosely related to her tree or she simply hasn't had the time to research him/her.
