..................................................................................................................

I have just found my best friend from around 22 years ago on FB. We became best friends in the most bizarre circumstances, that you only read about in take a break or on the Jeremy Kyle show. Anyway I haven’t seen her for about 12 years.
She was about 10 years older than I and had 5 children the youngest was the same age as my eldest.

I found her on FB and sent her a pm,asked after all the family and if the children were now married and if she was a grandma, she gave me all the details about her grandchildren and children bar one, I asked after him and she told me passed away aged 19……..I am gutted.

I worked for the "Listening Bank" for 12 years, left to start my family in 1981. Kept in touch with friends for a number of years but eventually we all lost contact.

Ended up managing an "Offy" and became friendly with one of the customers, turns out that she worked at the same branch of the bank that I worked at. I asked about some of the girls naming one in particular. Turned out that she had died two years earlier. I was gutted that I didn't know. She was only 49.

What happens to people when out backs are turned?

Still makes me feel sad.

That's very sad, Hayley. I can understand how you must have felt. I went to a school reunion a few years back and met up with lots of old schoolfriends but it was really heartbreaking to find out that a few of the old crowd had died over the years. One in particular was a very popular young fellow who had loads of friends at school and who passed away in a car crash on a lonely outback road by himself. Also found out one of the crowd was in jail.
