does anyone find it tiresome when trying to clean up and delete messages that u have to go back and re-read them so as not to delete the wrong messages ? after u have been re-searching your tree for many years u always need to keep some as they might come into the bigger picture of your tree later ! it would be nice if when u put the curser over the title of the message it could pop up the message in a small box /bubble like other sites . anything to save time !!!!

Mary Ellen, that is what the bookmark is for. If you bookmark a thread you want to keep, there is the 'bookmark this' button at the top.

Then you just use the 'My Bookmarks' tool on the left of the screen. Saves searching through every thread you ever commented on in 'My Threads'

I've jsut reread the post.. you didn't mean messages on the board did you LOL DOH!!!

OK, even if you delete them, as long as you don't delete the contact from your list, you can always retrieve them. They are stored on GR servers.

So if you are ever looking for a message that you have deleted from your inbox, go into 'My Contacts', and find the contact. Underneath you will see a list of messages to and from that contact which you can then read.

OK you still have to do a bit of searching but it does make it easier to keep your inbox tidy.

I don't worry about the messages I receive but I make notes on the contacts. You can add stars to those - depending on how useful they are etc. And there's a box where you can put a bit of info to remind yourself who they are and where they fit in.
