is anyone else on tablets for diabeties my OH is and broke his testing machine could not get one the same so the strips do not fit he just went to the Doctors and they have said they will not give the strips on prescription any longer I know they very dear to buy he is 79. They said it was not cost effective to supply them any more so he said is it cost effective if my wife has to call ambulance as I have done before. |

hi margret i know what you mean doctors today will not let you have strips on prescription any more for people with type 2 diabeties it,s as if they dont care about us we are only a pain in the rear to them . i know the strips are dear i look on ebay there are some on there that people have either a suplus or have changed their machine,s and have some left over. i think it,s about time that the goverment got it,s act together . |

somerset man I really do not know what to think about it,and Linda are you type 2 ? this is the first time he has been told that they will give any more strips. We are both pensioners how are we supposed to afford the money for the strips. |

Alice he has always got them before it just to day they say it is not cost effective to give them free to people who are on tablets for diabeties we live in South East London. He was never out of work all his working life and has been retired 13 years now |

hi i think it,s down to the doctors when i lived about 30 miles away i could get them when i moved was told i cant have them. it,s wrong that we cannot manage our diabeties i drive quite long distances i need to check that my sugars are ok but with out being able to test i have to take a chance. i think i will write to gordon brown and ask him why we are being treated as second class citizens |
