Bl**dy hospital has just rang to tell me that my op on monday has been cancelled. Only had day surgery on the phone 15mins prior confirming my attendance.

Apparently there is a sickness among the peeps who knock you out (can;t spell the word lol) during there monday shift.

So consultants secretary is ringing me next week sometime to book me in again.

Hubby will not be happy as he had to book 2 days off work to look after me and once days off are booked and confirmed they can't be undone...

Just this minute the hospital has rung me and told me they have found someone to cover half of the list and I am on that half...

Tell me about it LWH the consultant is renowned for cancelling appointments and I told the bloke that on the phone also told him about hubby and time off and that his firm were not to happy about it either they dont like being messed about.

Think this may have swung it really into my getting on the list lol

I dont care as I need the op to see what is wrong with my knee as it is crippling me at the moment.

Look out hospital here I come lol

Very unhappy person who has lost the plot...

I dont know if its any consolation but it happens everywhere....


I've been waiting for an op for 3 years now and finally last September after 3 sets of tests (all the same but 2 different hospitals and one lost set of results) I was put on the waiting list.....................

I asked if poss could they do it mid June this year 'cos of exams and placement. I had to ask for a bit of a favour as I probably wouldnt get to the top of the list until early July (2-4 week diff) but if that had happened then I couldnt go on placement and that would have affected their staff rosters (same hospital).

They said to ring end of April which I did...... I was told that I was booked for 18th May which I explained I couldnt do (exams) so the lady kindly booked me for 2nd June.

Last week I got the letter.......18th May. I rang and was told no-one had record of speaking to me and anyway 2nd June was not an option as the surgeon has a 'student' day that day..........

Ok, no prob but daughter has booked holiday for the following week and hubby has days off plus my Mum is over for 2 & 3rd!!

I have now taken the 9th but have found out that I would have probably got that date anyway....lol


On another, more annoying note my 4yo was in hospital end of March and we were told he would be seeing the consultant in outpatients no later than 8 weeks later...... (21st May). I rang today and after 6 phonecalls eventually got someone who could help... She checked my sons record and there was no notes to suggest any follow up was to be booked. Suffice to say she obviously understood my frustration and booked my son in for early June....

Going to be busy in June in my house......maybe the wait for exam results wont feel so long!
