OH and I had to go to Swansea. Whilst waiting at a staggered crossing where cars/buses are coming from all directions we were looking along the road checking traffic.

We saw a teenage Mum pushing a buggy suddenly step out in front of two lanes of oncoming traffic.

It was almost one of those flinching moments where you anticipate an impact.

Thank goodness she suddenly ran across and then we noticed that she was texting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I had been nearer she would have received the benefit of my wisdom re putting your child at risk.

OH was shocked and totally disgusted at her behaviour.

You should try driving down Patrick Street in Cork, everyone does it. Young mums, older mums, grannies, grandads, even wheelchair users!

I must admit Sue, there are a few idiots around town, I used to hate crossing the roads with a double buggy, so I learnt to run!!
Another time I was late and rushing to pick daughter up from school,I got stuck behind a veerryy, slow couple, and "nicked" the old ladies ankle with the buggy........well she hit the deck like a sack of spuds, her OH, bless him, went to help her up, and his false arm dropped off!...............................

Only once have I ever walked along while texting. I tripped over a drain cover and fell flat on my face, grazing my knees, elbows and chin.

Lesson learned LOL

As for a mother pushing a baby across a busy road while texting, that is just plain irresponsible.

(I thought you were going to say, going into Swansea was scary. My OH would say that, he used to live there)

Taff - it does depend.....Swansea itself can be pretty scary.....especially with the bendy bus doing its practice runs!!!!

SueM - hope you have recovered from your fright....silly girl.....just hope that she doesn't have to learn the lesson the hard way!
