Hiya Anne, I hope your mouth is feeling better now, and that you have spoken to your oncologist or GP... I forgot about the pineapple, as I couldn't have it on the last phase of chemo... my chemo effectively burned my entire intestinal tract, and the pineapple upset my tummy badly... shame really, as it was also the only food I actually fancied trying to eat, lol!! Hence the morphine *swallow* |

My SIL was told to eat crushed pineapple as it was the best cleanser for the mouth. The hospital told him. So we bought tins of it . It worked. |

Our daughter went through chemo for Hodgkin's on two weekly sessions for six months in 2005 . She found crushed ice sludge helped plus she was also told about pineapple by the hospital Unfortunately she doesnt like it so that was a no go but she did find the ice crush very helpful plus she had a mouthwash too that seemed to help[. She found the Hospital very helpful with suggestions when she had various problems immediately after each chemo session. |

Am so sorry Anne. When my friend had chemo and got mouth ulcers, I bought her Manuka honey and it worked wonders. Worth a try.. BCXX |

Hello Anne... they gave me a morphine based medicine, in a syringe, a couple of times a day.... my entire gullet was burned from the chemo I had... and I had no saliva... so if that is a problem, you can also get artificial saliva, as well.... best thing I found to eat was soups and pureed food..... or icelollies, |

Does anyone have a good remedy for this? I have 2 more sessions to go and each time the symptons for this are more severe . I can cope with the hair loss & sickness but not being able to eat most things isn't very nice, the doctor has prescribed various mouth washes but they haven't really helped very much. |
