Dear Rosalyn

I am very sorry to hear about the fire at your local church.

I hope no one was injuried.

I see it also acted as a focal point for the whole community.

Can these groups use another church or hall nearby until things are sorted out?

I am sure people will rally round.

With very best wishes to you, your family and community.
x

Ros, that is sad, we saved our local church from catching alight a couple of years ago - its a few doors up from us, some youths had stolen a car parked it in the church driveway right next t the church window (which incidentally had a hole in it and curtains were next to it, and they then set alight to the car).

Our closest neighbours to the church had to be evacuated and we all huddled next door us ladies in our night attire lol. It was all very exciting at the time but also concerning.

We never got any thanks from the church that we had saved it, OH said if it happened again, he would turn over and go back to sleep!

Will have a peep at utube.

Oh no that is terrible! It sounds like a very unlucky church. I do hope all the church records had previously been deposited with the County Records Office as it would be a genealogical disaster for all family historians. It is so sad for the whole community.

Our local church had a huge fire on Friday night , will probably be demolished , it was only rebuilt 15 years ago after a flood ruined it.My daughter went to Brownies , Guides, dancing class there and I went to Young Wives although we don`t attend the church .If you go onto you tube -it`s Langside Church , Glasgow
