my dad went to burma in the war he was in the chindits i am sure he said he got on a ship or boat from southend wondered if anyone might know

My Dad got the Burma star but I didn't ask him much about his war exploits, I wasn't that curious, now it's too late.
He was in the Palestine Police too and in the Royal Bucks? regiment. My son and my nephew have his medals between them 4 in all I think. Wish I knew more now but no-one alive to ask.
