Thanks Maz, have emailed Cressida and look forward to finding out more. will check the sites as well.

Am thinking will bring mum earlier if exhibition proves what I think it will be. Will be a chance to meet with other women from that time.

Damn cold down under.

Hi Marg,
this might be of interest!

" Did you or your family work at the Cabinet War Rooms?

In 2009, The Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms will be hosting an exhibition to commemorate the opening of the Cabinet War Rooms on 27 August 1939. The exhibition will explore what it was like to work in this underground, secret bunker and the various roles taken on by its staff. We would be interested to hear from anybody who worked, or anyone whose relations worked, down in the Cabinet War Rooms during the Second World War.

Please contact Cressida Finch on [email protected] or 020 7930 6961. "

there is a big museum, find some details here http://cwr.iwm.org.uk/server/show/nav.1425

hope your mum enjoys her trip!

Kia Ora, Marg. I'll ask my husband when he gets home.... he worked alongside the signals, and still has friends in so they should know, or they may be able to find out. Did your mum ever work at Bletchley or Beaumanor? I believe that until recently Beaumanor had a group of ladies still contributing to a Signals magazine...

Take care

Kia Ora, I am bringing my mother to the UK in Sept, 83yrs her first trip back since 1948! She was in the Signals under Whitehall during war and wondering if anyone can point me in the direction to find any women from the Signals who may still be alive. My mother wants to visit Whitehall. all help appreciated.
