Hiya... many of my friends on facebook are from GR... just to let you know that I am deleting my account!! I might open another eventually, when I have worked out how the privacy thing works... it doesn't seem to be very good, does it?

I haven't deleted my account, but I have checked my photo settings, and deleted some people who I am not sure of... can't connect them in my head to anyone's board name here. Then got lost as usual!! Tsk!!

I was only asked last night to join FB
This has really put me off now

Ann there was a problem last night, and now not sure which was a lie and which a truth... or maybe both lies, lol... Muffy and Hayley were told by Mel that Mel had seen and had a good laugh at some of their private photos.... this morning Mel retracted that, with no apology just a statement say she didn't know why she said it... then she deleted her account again. Muffy and Hayley have been suspended for trying to find out which photos.... GR has again ignored people's right to privacy!! It would seem that these photos were probably from Facebook.... and that they came from... well, guess!!

I am really fed up with this little group of nasties appearing to get away with blue murder.... they are just 3 or 4 people..... for goodness' sake how can they live with themselves!!

I'd go back into the sunshine if I were you, Ann.... and have a bottle of nice wine, lolol!!

~~~~~~ waves to Island and Mo... it would appear that someone has gained access to private photos somehow!! There is a privacy setting for friends only, which I have checked, and I have clicked mine, lol....

I have not put photos on face book. I don't understand Mel, why does she say these things and then retract them. How long are the suspensions do you know? Wasn't on last night so missed all that. Prabably just as well.

Daff, apparently loads of our pics, including Llanelli meet ones were put on some msn groups site? Now if that was possible, it may not be from FB at all, btw, I'me not a member of FB!

I had a discription of myself given to me!! and it was accurate!!

not sure, but GC photos and Next Generation sites folded, and I THINK all photos access was lost......but what you have seen.......some people have good memories?

or even still have copies of the originals.....

I closed my FB account after the last trouble on here, as I did not know who to trust and who not.

Also may I also say that I keyed into google search the other day a name of someone I know - not on GR and their FB profile came up with all their pictures for the world to see and I did not even have to log onto the FB site.

That´s interesting Tina. I´ve just googled myself and yes my profile came up saying I was on FB. BUT I couldn´t access any of my photos EXCEPT the profile one. For example I couldn´t get in to see any of my grandchildrens photos. So I´m not sure how you were able to see ALL your friend´s photos, you should have only seen their profile one which they agreed to be released. Also by googling FB you were actually accessing that site. But of course anything can be possible!

It has been said on here many times to be careful what we put on the internet. I love Facebook. My family are scattered everywhere, and it is a joy and a wonder to see photos of my family and friends and to share in all those precious moments. We need to use caution with everything we put on the internet. I just share my jewels with those I know personally, not just any old person who asks me to be their "friend". It is a wonderful programme when used wisely.

Just googled myself too. Nothing from Facebook, but a reply I made to a radio programme appeared.
Googled one of my daughters and only one FB reference came up - obviously someone who hasn't put up the privacy guards. However, even through this 'contact' I couldnt access my daughter's profile.

I did not google FB, I googled her name and a list came up and one of them was the FB link.

There was her profile picture and alongside were other photos, I just had to click on each one and the list expanded. When I clicked onto the different photo the question came up, was this person the right Jane Smith, so to speak, and if not log onto FB. Of course, I may have been wrong and this may not be all her photographs.

I will be telling her mother about it, so she is aware.

I googled my real name but nothing came up, but then I have deactivated my account.

To be fair and not siding with anyone.......I have seen some photos ( some that have been mentioned and others ) They were from meets a while back in the days when after a meet photos were put on certain websites so that all could have access. The links were put on GR if I remember correctly or by pm by the owners if asked. I looked/saw and thought nothing more about them...was just as nosy as anyone else to see what others looked like and as they had given a link publicly thought it was ok to look.( don't ask me the links ...can't remember ).

Edit....even forgotten what they looked like and didn't copy them or pass them on .

Hi Daff and all, this has made me very sad. Like many others I enjoy being here ( most of the time ! ) and on FB.
For people who are housebound or have other reasons for not being able to get out these sites can be a great place to be both for amusement and to keep us sane lol !!!

To those who have worries about what the rest of the world can see I can only state the obvious, that being, don't post anything you wouldn't want anyone to see.

I will miss you Daff on FB and hope that you wont let the " nasties " keep you away too long.

sorry that you have had bother on facebook, cant say that i have at all.
dont understand enough abut the privacy thing. as far as i know you cant see my page unless you are a 'friend' of mine (people have looked and told me they couldnt see mine) so i am not sure what has happened to your profile.
hope you get sorted out.
i find it very addictive on there and have met some lovely people.
only a couple of weird blokes, whom i have ignored when they have messaged me!

I just put one of my sons name into google and managed to get pics of him from FB!

As i say island, Just put sons name in google and he showed up as a FB member, so I clicked the link and hey presto, there was his pic,.

l'm about to delete my account too, nothing on there really but l never have liked the site. If l'm a friend of a friend etc l can see hundreds of pictures and info, nah not right somehow!! :o((
