Well pointed out Chris.

Also are they going to be charged interest on the money they have taken, after all it is our money...

Did you see Nick Clegg on the Beeb this morning saying that any profit he made on his second home, when he came to sell it, would be paid back to the tasxpayer...as if...

The need for second homes would be greatly reduced if the M.P.s for Scotland and Wales did not sit in Westminster. After all English M.P.s , to my knowledge, cannot sit in either Scotland or Wales.

Personally I have objected to this custom since these two countries gained their own Parliaments.

Why do Sinn Fein require London accomodation (at a greatly inflated rent from an Irish landlord) when they neither recognise nor sit in the Palace of Westminster?

I have heard of flats being built for MP's to use whilst in London.
But as my daughter pointed out - the rent boys will be seen leaving!!!!! LOL

Perhaps their homes in London should be a cardboard box under a railway arch

Chirs - that'll be Lembit Opik.

Do you think he was distracted by something? LOL

Good point, Gordon - bring on the REAL cheats!!!

Agreed. MP's are now sorry and paying back small claims they should never had morally made in the first place, because it's easy to do....Bravo!

I've seen no mention to date on paying back the 'second home' allowances, which is where the 'big' money was? Has any MP yet offered to donate their second/third property back to the taxpayer who paid for it?

Just looked at the list of expenses claimed on the Daily Telegraph site - most would take your breath away but these caught my eye - Greg Barker made £320,000 profit when he sold a house taxpayers helped to buy. Margaret Becket spent £600 on flower baskers and tubs, for sheer cheek Lib Dem (forgotten his name now - was with one of the Cheeky girls) was fined £40 for non payment of rates and put it to expenses!

How can you tell when an MP's lying ?

It's disgusting when you think of (mainly) single mothers imprisoned (at what cost to us) because they can't afford a television licence.
How many TV licences could be bought with the money these scum have embezzled?

I reckon they may have robbed enough to clear us of our national debt, when and if they come completely clean and pay it all back...lol

They are panicing but I, for one, will not forget when it comes to the ballot box. They are only paying up because they got caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

I think this all gained momentum from an 88p bath plug!
