Can you hit "Select All" at the bottom of the page, deselect those you want to keep and then hit "Ignore selected"?

You can change how and if you receive hot matches, from "My Account".

However, until they can show us the name of the common ancestor in the list of hot matches, I am not interested in any of them. It is so much easier to "Search Trees" if you want to know about an ancestor - and just deal with that one.

I don't like having to open each hot match to see who we are talking about - then deleting the unwanted ones. Takes ages when you get half a dozen pages of them.

My latest hot match is:

My Tree
William Smith 1789 Wortley Yorkshire

Other Tree
John Deakon 1836 Lavenham Suffolk

Cannot wait for the next edition of Hot Matches. With such close matches I cannot go wrong.

Just so funny

This topic turns up every couple of weeks, even more frequently than the one about allowing other members to have access to your tree.

You can't delete them, only hide the ones you are not interested in. If you are getting matches in name and DOB then they are working correctly. If you have a mismatch of names then this is a fault, but is sometimes as a result of you or the other member changing or uploading a new tree. Should sort itself out next time around.

As far as I know, turning off the notification will do just that, stop you receiving an email from GR, your Hotmatches are still there.

Despite the shortcomings, they do turn up something interesting every now and again, but if they are not for you then simply don't bother looking at them
