If you go to your hompage on ancestry theres should be under the main headings a box with details of your existing tree on. Next to the name of your main tree there is a heading my trees which if you click on it will have a drop down list for you to choose from. One of these in the list is upload a gedcom file, click on that and it will take you to another page. If you click on the browse button it will open a window which will allow you to choose the file you wish to upload, once you have the right file click on it to select it then click on the open button (the window will close and the details will be in the bar called choose files on ancestry) You then give you new tree a name, put a description of the tree if you wish, then click on the tick box to aggree to the upload, then click on the orange upload button.

Im unsure what happens next sorry as I didnt have a gedcome to upload when I was fiddling about lol

hope that explains it ok if you still are not sure or I havent explained it properly let me know.

Hi Sally if you scroll down the bottom of this page under the thread headings there is a green banner with links to click on 5th across is import/export click on that it will take you to another page where you can import or export. click on the export button and it a gedcom of your tree will be sent to you.

I want to export my GR tree . Any clues how I do this - please bear in mind that I am a technophobe..Thanks, Sally
