I'm very sorry to hear that Karen. The woman I helped out last year was indeed luckier -- whatever had caused the family split was a couple of generations back by then, and the current generation here at GR was happy to oblige with information.

Sounds like a bit of nose being cut off to spite own face, in your case. You'd think people would be grateful for info like that.

My (dad's) family, it's just the quadruple coronary artery blockage we have to watch for! Wouldn't even have known that except that a chain of questions when my dad died (presumed to be of the metastisized melanoma he was dying of, but there were things seemed just not quite right) led to the coroner directing a post mortem, which discovered the real reason he'd died earlier than expected of the cancer (there really are blessings in disguise, in situations like that). When he got the results, he called my mum and told her to be sure that all of us kids got checked and monitored for the condition, and we've told cousins too.

Hopefully some of your cousins will talk it over a bit among themselves and maybe be a bit more forthcoming. At least you know you've done your bit to inform them.

Best wishes.

Dear Janey Canuck,Thank you for your advice which i acted on.Sadly it didnt work out as i had hoped, and it has been a massive disappointment.
It must be a huge shock to have my message on your screen and before jenny died i would have been taken back also ,but SADS is the silent killer which wasnt known about years ago ,many different causes of death were put on the death certificate, but know i can recognise the warning signs linking them together.
I have found a cousin, and asked if she felt she couldnt help please would she tell other family members about jenny, but i am sure for whatever the reason it wont happen.
Richard and Wendy if you read this it is frightening to think this gene may be in the family, but i am frightened for my other children too.i dont know who has the gene and who is fine.
Please ask your floyd family to talk to me you may think your infomation is unimportant, but it may be very important to me.

Karen, have you done as suggested and contacted the owners of the trees at Ancestry and at this site that have your George Floyd in them?

This is the point at which you have to take action to seek out contact with possible relations, rather than waiting for them to come to you.

Contacting the tree owners at the two sites is an essential first step. It is how I put someone in contact with living relations she was looking for, as described in one of your other threads, to get medical history info on behalf of her granddaughter who had a rare heart condition and could not be admitted to a trial without that family medical history info. I found people with shared ancestors here at GR and contacted them on her behalf because she found the system confusing.

That's what you need to do for starters. People here have found that info for you -- you have to follow up on it.

Best wishes.

Hi Karen

I just searched Family Trees on Ancestry and there are two trees with a George R.J. Floyd b1911 Pancras. They are both private trees and you need a sub to Ancestry to be able to contact the owners of the trees.

If you don't have a sub you could take out a free two-week trial sub.

I am the grandaughter of Robert Francis Floyd, whose family originated from St Pancras London. My Great Grandparents were George Walter Floyd and Daisy Dye.i have a life threatening genetic heart condition in my immediate family and urgently need a bloodline Floyd relative for medical history. The Floyds were co owners of a jewellers called Floyd and Pulsford in Regents St London. If any Floyds recognise this information and know of S A D deaths in the family, please respond urgently. thank you in antisipation.
