Carol, what a lovely idea, and so glad it all went well, there will be some great memories for everyone and no formality or stiltedness I am sure, bet the children enjoyed it too and no one had to worry about them getting bored or up to mischief.
I hope your friends have many happy years together

Two friends of ours are past the first flush of youth ... both have grown children & several Grandchildren. They have been together for over 8years, so it was a big surprise to receive a Wedding invitation.
The invitation told us to meet at a local village pub, wearing normal clothes; we would then be taken by coach to join the happy couple to celebrate their marriage.
In the month since the invitations were sent out, there have been a multitude of guesses as to our destination. Choosing just what to wear was a problem, normal clothing, for what activity? Knowing that the Groom was a collector of vintage tractors, I went for a smart, but practical summer skirt & top & wore comfortable flat sandals.
Today the Double Decker bus took us on a real mystery tour, heading first towards the coast and then heading inland. We crossed from East Sussex into Kent, the guesses as to our destination changing at every crossroads.
Over an hour later we found out ... Kent Life. (Museum of Rural life)
It was a lovely wedding ... vows exchanged in the old village hall ... the many children (Grandchildren of bride & groom) had great fun in the play areas ... the adults reminisced as they walked round the old buildings.
With the oldest guest being over 80 & the youngest just 2 weeks, it would have been hard to find a better venue ... a smart hotel or National Trust property would have been a nightmare for the parents of the children.
