THORPE PARK OR CHESSINGTON

Winter Drawers Ever Near Report 17 May 2009 22:36

Chessington I would say is geared up more for the under 13s although it does have some big rides and the zoo is nice.

Thorpe Park is probably more suited to a 13yr old especially if they have already been to Alton Towers.

My grandchildren are only 8 and 4 and were at Chessington today and had a great time. It is just down the road from us and a bit nearer than TP.

Thorpe Park wins hands down. It has 4 great water rides including the Tidal Wave which has an 85ft plunge into pools of water. Prepare to get wet, but it's great fun too.

The Colosus is the UK's only quadruple corkscrew rollercoaster with 10 vertical loops. It really is a thrilling ride.

Stealth rollercoaster goes from 0-80mph in less than 2 seconds and reaches 205 feet.

Nemesis Inferno is an inverted ride which dives into the fiery mouth of a volcano.

There are so many thrilling rides that you want to go on them again and again. The whole complex has themed areas ie, Oriental, American, Wild west.

It really is a great day out and worth every penny. Even princess Diana used to take her boys there on more than one occasion. I am 45 yrs old and absolutely love going there with the family. I can't wait t go back again. I wouldn't even bother with Chessington, it just doesn't compare.

Have a great time, you will love it!

Both have the thrill rides
Thorpe Park has a man made beach and pool for the kids, also a small farm area ,which is a ferry ride over the lake
I believe Chessington also still has a small zoo
Thats about all I can tell you
