I too have that problem Dizzi.....As a Renal patient it would probably cost me more in insurance than the actual holiday...lol

Shop around, I have family members with pre-existing conditions, they found a company that will cover them at a reasonable cost, okay it may cost them double what it would cost them if they didn't decalre (say £30 instead of £15), but it means they won't have an insurance company trying to claim the funds back it has spent out because you weren't straight with them invalidating the policy.

The other issue is the quaity of insurance you take out, a cheap and cheerful premiums fine, but do read the small print does it cover everything you'd expect it to.

If you are maybe spending £500 per person on a holiday is it worth say saving less than 5% of that on you insurance by not being straight with your insurance company, and maybe ending up stranded in a foreign country with a large medical bill to pay.

You should always declare a medical condition when taking out insurance as not doing so could void your insurance should you need to claim.........

Then I hope they never have an episode of the illness they haven't declared when they are abroad....................it could be a very expensive holiday!

I KNOW A FEW
EVEN THOUGH A TEMPORY CONDITION
NEVER DECLARE

NOT EVEN ASTHAMA WHICH IS LIFE THREATENING

all depends on the condition I would have thought - I take medication for Clinical Depression and High Cholesterol. Neither of these conditions are likely to kill me or cause me to have an accident so if asked I would not declare them

Conditions such as Diabetes, high blood pressure etc. are different.

Just my thoughts anyway

I've never taken out holiday insurance as we always holiday in England, but not declaring a medical problem seems a bit daft to me....................what if it invalidated your policy?

Surely that would cost far more than the extra premium.
