Just to let anyone who might have wondered where I'd gone I had a major stroke on 1st april. Just before this I'd been communicating about meeting my birth family. Life has changed now. I lost use of left hand side but am now walking short distances with stick and am managing to type etc with one hand. Can anyone advise on their stroke recovery and how long it might be before I can walk properly |

So sorry to hear your news, it varies from person to person how soon mobility returns, but as you seem to be making progress, hopefully not too long. Are you having physio - if not perhaps your doctor will arrange some. |

Hi everone nice to say hello. My stroke came out of the blue. I'd had a busy day and haf a pleasant evening with friends. I went to bed got up for loo and it happened. I had brilliant therapy in hospital and hopefully will receive it twice a week at home. as I have just turned 50 husband has stayed off work to look after me so future is uncertain at the moment but I'm just grateful to be alive although its all very frustrating |
