I here by do solemnly admit to cheating. I do this at my work, I also admit to doing it at times on this very site.

You see the problem is at times my brain seems to work faster than my hands and even my mouth so whilst writing or typing I miss words out or when speaking my words are jumbled or the wrong word. I have observed that they normally have the same first 3 letters.

For example.

“ I am sorry, I didn’t catch what you said then I was constipated”

What I meant to say was…


I am sorry, I didn’t catch what you said then I was concentrating”


Of course this has caused a bit of a laugh and people assume it’s an old joke it isn’t but I have learned to laugh at myself.

If I was writing something serious on here, with lots of big words again I cheat. I was also taught when being taught proper English that you sound the word out, like shhhhh shop shhhh shoes, this is a problem with big words or words with F can be Th. So if I want to write a sentence with words such, hypocrite or sympathy or interference, insignificance. I tend to write it on micro office word and then copy and paste.

That must be very frustrating at times. I admire you for dealing with as best you can to be honest. I've never had any problem with spelling or writing so I take it for granted a bit but my OH does and I get bloody livid when people confuse his difficulties with lack of intelligence.

A lot of people do Uggers, now my maths on the other hand or problem solving I am a dab hand at I love numbers.

It's also something which comes with age. I have to google some words now and I would never have done that a couple of years ago....lol

Serioulsy, there is a world of difference between what you have and a simple lack of intelligence, and that shows in the post itself, not the ability to spell some words. You certainly don't come across as stupid or thick.

Self-centred, hissy, finicky, mememe perhaps, but not thick. lol
