I'm off to Southend soon, to try to see the air display.
Just sorting out the cameras and binoculars.

~~~~~~waves to Gail~~~~~
My "swimming pool" is in fact a blow up family sized paddling pool! Nothing posh about that, but wonderful to wallow in when the weather gets too hot! :))
Had a lovely afternoon at Southend apart from difficulty finding a parking space so had about a mile to walk and missed the first one or two displays.
Very sunny with thousands of people down there, all races. Southend used to be very Jewish, but seemed more like Dehli at times.
Morning Harpstrings my friend, everyone xxx
Brian, I live in Essex, not too far from Southend ...
Did you see the Red Arrows, sounds as if you had a super day. xxx
Yep, saw the Red Arrows, and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, and the Eurofighter, etc..
Ddisappointed the Vulcan couldn't be there, but they got funding too late to get the annual Airworthiness inspection done in time.
Went down via Hockley and Rochford to avoid the A127 (although I joined that a bit too soon on the way down) and it was quite a pleasant run through the country.
I should have headed for the west side of the pier though, as that was where the display was centred, in which case I might not have had to walk so far.
