I have a friend who knits for charity, she is currently making Alan Darts " Medieval Mice" from the May issue of Simply Knitting but the first four of this set are in Issue No.53 (that is either April or the Spring issue). To obtain a back copy would cost £6.99 which she cannot afford, is it possible that anyone has a copy of this knitting magazine? Would you be willing to copy the patterns for the figures featured. She doesn't need the basic Mouse as she has that already just the costumes for each - King, Queen etc.

She has knitted hundreds of these mice including Carol Singers, Harvest Mice, Nativity etc. which have been donated to a number of charities and has raised quite a lot of money for Cancer research, childrens charities and animal welfare.
I have looked at the website and it is possible to download some of Alan Dart's patterns but not the ones she wants - and they cost £2.50 each pattern so still a bit expensive.

If anyone could help she (and I) would be so grateful.

Thanks
Kathleen

Hi Mary,

Patterns received - many thanks to your sister for taking the time to do this. I told my friend there was bound to be someone on here who could and would help.

The knitting being done now is for the Christmas sales and raffles so there will be many sets made between now and then. The first ones are being made specifically for animal welfare but undoubtedly she will receive many requests for contributions to other charities.

My friend has arthritis in her hands so knitting can be painful - but she thinks it's better to keep her fingers moving. At 81 she doesn't believe in sitting still and doing nothing.

Best wishes
Kathleen
