I have heard that Bio Oil works on pronounced scars so might be worth looking at the info about it, it's about £9 a bottle from chemists etc but goes a long way.

A friend of mine had some terrible ones after spilling hot chip fat down herself. The medical profession said that they were a very unusual type of scarring for a white 'caucasian' to develop, but this was many years ago.

She had some plastic surgery, where a lot of the thick scarring was cut away and a skin graft was made, taking skin from the inside of her thigh - which then developed keloid scarring of its own! The poor girl couldn't win.

I am sure matters are much more advanced these days.

Hi George,

My son had one after an operation which was quite embarrasing to him. Then all of a sudden, after a couple of years and no treatment, it turned into an ordinary scar.....No explanation I am afraid :-(

This page might help as it explains about several types of scar and treatments.

Are there any other members who suffer or who have relatives who do, from kaeloid scars?

If so I would like to hear your experiences and what treatment has been most effective?

Thanks

George
