Have you tried Friends Reunited?
I joined for a bit of fun and put in my old school in Sydney, NSW, where I attended in the early forties.
Imagine my shock at finding three names of girls who were in the same class as I was in 1946! Haven't heard of them since then - and I recognosed the names immediately.

Try it. You have nothing to lose and maybe quite a lot to gain! Good luck!

I'm sure Lynda had a great thread (perhaps on general) about London in the past. Perhaps someone can bump it up for you.

Is there anyone on this site who was brought up in East London England during th 1950s. I lived at 4 Murdoch Cottages , off Grove Road and went to school at Guardian Angels on teh Mile End Road. I remember Maryilyn who lived in Clinton Road, Ellen Ewers who lived I think somewhere off Burdett Road and many others.
I am not looking for relatives as we had none in the area but memeories of good and bad times.
Hope to hear from someone !
