Hi Ros ,
My neice has just finished in the filming " boy from nowhere " ( John Lennons story)
She loved every min of it , long days though she had to be in the park at 7am & the main actors where all there well before that, finished 1st day at 8pm,
another friend has been an extra in Brookside & Corrie , he loves it but i'm sure he only goes for the food they supply !

Love Karen

My son's friend was an extra in the film "Atonement" when it was filmed on Redcar beach.

He loved every minute - although as already been said it was a couple of very long days. He loved the army uniform he had to wear, loved meeting the stars and also loved the food which was apparently very good - the cash was an extra bonus.

I have a few friends that were extras in Quadrophenia - for the beach fight scenes. I think that there had been an ad in the local paper for it.

I knew a young woman years ago who was an occasional extra: she wrote off to a company who used her whenever they were in her part of the UK. She didn't make much money but had a lot of fun in adverts, films and tv and gave it up when the chlidren came along as the days were too long.

Have you be a paid up member of RADA or do you simply answer an advertisment spotted in the news paper ?

Or do you have to advertise your availability ?
