Glenys like you I would never have considered a monkey as a substitute. People often call my dogs the girls and they are always taken into consideration. Yes they have wax jackets for wet weather and the little one has a jumper coat for the cold, but they do not have ribbons and bows or dresses and they are pets very loved and spoilt pets but never-the-less pets.

It can only happen in America,

I think these people need counselling. How someone can see a monkey as a substitute for a baby is beyond me. If they want to dote on a pet, buy a cat or a dog.

Capuchins live for up to 40 yrs. Keeping these animals in such an unnatural state & suppressing their natural behaviour. Isn't this a form of cruelty?

What next...........take their monkey baby on the school run. Enroll it to study law at Harvard?

I wonder if they have to take the monkey wherever they go? We don't leave children at home when we go visiting, shopping, etc. so how would you be able to leave a monkey at home?

You can leave a cat or dog at home when you go out - they just sleep most of the time, or play around outside - but if you treat a monkey like a child - think of the mischief it could get up to! Most shops would not allow them to come in and you can't leave them in a car in hot weather or they will suffer like a child would.

I should imagine the people would be getting less and less invitations.

Glenys we are but I can understand why people do it. I don't agree with it same as I can't agree with the people who snatch babies ( surely this is better ) but I can understand how one might feel,
Thankfully I didn't

Also I do not believe that they who have children are like minded.
