SUSAN BOYLE SHOULD'VE BEEN CAREFULLY MONITORED SINCE HER FIRST APPEARANCE?
THIS POOR WOMAN CAN'T COPE WITH ALL THAT HAS HAPPENED, AND THERE IS STILL TALK OF HER HITTING THE BIG TIME!!

IF THIS HAPPENS, THEN LET'S HOPE SHE HAS THE RIGHT KIND OF SUPPORT 24/7 BEFORE SHE EMBARKS ON HER JOURNEY TO STARDOM.

I think that the press has a lot to answer for. They're encouraging celebrity culture and too much pressure is placed upon people and there's far too much intrusion into people's lives.

Going off line in a few mins., but agree with all Secret Red Squirrel has said. Don't think she would cope well with stardom, but would any of us,in all honesty. I for one, know I wouldn't.

But according to paper today not only she is up for the tour - Simon Cowell has her down to record an album in less than a week in eastern Europe! Do not think she has the stamina either mental or physical but there will be thopse who do not care and look on her as money machine. Sad.

There are a lot of people out there who try to do normal jobs , but when they are put under to much stress and fall pray to mental illness, they are not monitored, so I dont think she should have been monitored.

She never expected after one performance on BGT to be shot into the Worlds limelight.Too much Too Quick.I do feel sorry for her as I just think has been overwhelmed by it all.Plus she is exhausted.

Anyone who enters a contest like this one which is quite highly publicised must have some idea what will happen if they get through each round as each year there are films about the contestants as they progress through the competition.

Regarding recording contracts and appearances - anyone can always so no if they find it is getting too much for them. Surely if you go into a competition like this your dream and hope is that you will hit the big time. The fact that she has been unable to cope with the pressure is not really the fault of the programme or those involved.

But I think although she had her dream of being a professional singer she didnt expect or understand all the media exposure ,especially when they did their usual build em up and the pull em down again. This was too soon to for her and she is a vulnerable lady who has some mild learning difficulties who wasnt expecting this kind of thing. She probably didnt expect or understand the nastiness of the media to undermine her so soon. I think the negative media did cost her some votes as people changed their minds about her ,but saying that I wonder how diversity managed to get so many votes ahead of her as every time i tried to vote her line was constantly engaged so how did so many votes get though for the winners??
She did seem to have lost her sparkle in the final although she did deliver her song well again,Maybe she should have sung a new song that we hadnt heard before. Her singing on you tube of Cry me a River is just lovely .
I do wish her well and hope she gets a strong management who will have her welfare at the forefront and wont exploit this vulnerable lady.
I do wish her well in what SHE decides is her next step

l have worked with adults with learning difficulties and l would say she has some learning difficulties, also naivety about the big wide world, the media etc, the way she behaves on the stage pulling her dress up etc. l don't think she should be going on tour,it could prove too much for her again, but how do you tell her she can't go, l wonder how she will react, maybe she will be ok about it. She's famous now why can't they just let her make an album and sing everynow and then at concerts and play it down. She's almost certainly a millionaire already and hopefully will be guided as to how to spend the money. Her brother seems a very nice man on the news earlier. Lets hope she has a good few days rest at the Priory and is not rushed into anything too quickly and that the papers can be sensative for once!!

Susan herself didn't expect the reaction of, let's face it, the WORLD. And I'm sure you and I didn't expect it, either. And she has been hounded relentlessly by the media; far too much than should normally happen at this stage.

I do hope she's given time to take stock of the situation, and get herself into that studio. Remember, the reaction of the world to this lady's singing has been totally unexpected.

Night night, friends. :-))

Hiya Vods ~~~~~~~~

I knew as soon as I set eyes on her that Susan had learning difficulties... but she is so talented as well!! And yes... the spotlight was too much too soon.
She SHOULD have been mentored/cared for... but her disability was clearly slight enough for social services to get away with allowing her to be her parents'sole carer when they needed her!! (material for another thread, I know) so in some ways..... why should BGT feel that she should have extra support.... of course we all know she has needed it, and I think she has had it..... she has been booked into the priory, without any money behind her, at the moment anyway.... I think the show has done that, although I might be wrong... there is no way she could afford it herself!!

But I don't believe that anyone could have predicted the impact she would have, her level of disability, and her ability to cope with that... I think the show has done what it could, as her contition emerged and deteriorated.

Hi Daff. I said to my g.son on Saturday night that she was shaking. If you watch her carefully, you can see her head shaking in a nervous way.
One of her brothers could surely have been there to support her. One of them has been like a family spokesman through all this, and he spoke to her this morning, but he didn't seem overly concerned to be truthful.
I do wish her well.

Hey, great news on you. Keep it all.

She has a great voice, but like others have said, believe learning difficulties. Years ago I worked with a woman, who acted very much like she did, and she was not mental, but as we used to say about people like this. A halfpenny short of a shilling.

Think she should have been monitored, and also a member or friend of the family come with her.

I just wish her all the luck in the world now.
