I can do normal conversation as well Christina :) it's cloudy and grey here today but with a bit of breeze...how about where you are? Chat has it's days of normality where every thread is pleasant and light...good on you for posting one that will hopefully stay that way.

Rose,

The weather in a not so sunny Sussex is a little cold today.
I had thought about doing the lawns ..... but decided to see if there was life on here. Actually was really going to have a poke at the family history but ended up chatting.

I should be doing the grass myself, but hayfever is stopping me. Good day for pottering round I think , doing a bit of research in general.

Hi Christina

Yes we do seem to be letting another county see the best of the sunshine today, though the breeze dried my washing whilst I was at work this morning.
I am hoping that it will be good again tommorrow as I have the day off & am planning to go out with my daughter. We are planning to go to a look round a garden out near Polegate, you may know it.

Boring might be right for what I was doing Christina......had to takle the white kitchen floor with a scrubbing brush.......it was getting boggin (Dad's word for grubby).....

Whatever persueded me that an off white floor was a good idea.....

Lost the sun, so the clean floor doesn't look so special......the sun was showing up all the marks before.....

yes, I like the word 'boggin' Moonchild. We also say 'minging'. (Don't know about the spelling, but it's ming to rhyme with ping.)

Hiya Meriweather, I did wonder if it was a Northern Irish saying as Dad was born there and lived there until his teens when his Dad was posted to Scotland.......he always used it.......usually, as a child, in respect of the state of my bedroom.....lol....

Yes, I have heard minging over the last few years..... both would have described the grubby state of my floor.......I wonder if OH will notice....

My OH was a Scotsman, Moonchild. Both boggin and minging came from his side of the family! Lolol

Good heavens, no intention to give offence, Moonchild. Love both words and have adopted them. Just like to pull old OH's leg, from time to time, even if he is no longer with us.
