Thanks for the tips Elizabeth--brilliant!! I've started a new page for each essay and done the headings ready--even that feels absolutely marvelous--I've started -yay!!!

Briget, yes they do take overseas students,you get a tutor-mine is in Chicago!! I too am in the last decade of my nursing career and I've finally took the plunge to turn my 30 year hobby into something much more--if you do it it would be marvelous to have a "buddy" stressing along with me xx

Just noticed this thread and think I have at last found something that would interest me enough to retire from nursing. Is this a course that I could do form overseas???

I am also a nurse but at the end of my career. so just maybe we could support each other.....

any tips etc would be useful and can one start at anytime of the year

Dear Charlie Chuckles

Had this problem myself when I was studying.

A small suggestion:

1. Put the essay title.

2. Just scribble ideas or words, whatever you think on the computer screen. Leave room so you can add handwritten notes later.

3. Save your work and print off what you have done.
At another time, look at what you have put down and then add more.

4. Then link up the research to the different areas.

This way, the essay will begin to take shape and you will feel less stressed and more motivated. The words will just flow and
the work will be more enjoyable to do.

I am the world's worst procrastinator, even got a book from the library about it, renewed it three times and took it back unread, says it all really!

It's about £2000 - but you can pay monthly £50-£75, you get a tutor and there's a forum page so there's loads of support. This is the first course then when you get done you can go for the diploma it takes 3-5 years depending on how much time you have available. I'm on lecture 7 of 26 and have just come up to 1 year studying, I work full-time and have a family so I try to do at least 2 hours per week , as I'm a nurse I work shifts and have to do study thingsfor that to, so there's a lot of juggling and fristration!!

I'm studying with 2The Institute of Heradic and Genealogical Studies", I'm hoping to get at least a certificate but hopefully I might be able to get a diploma. It's a correspondence course cos I live in the North East and the Institute is in Canterbury, it's really interesting
