Dear All

Hello, Elizabeth A beat me to it!

By the way folks, people who are in receipt of Income Support in London get half price on bus passes.

1.  Collect a form for this from the post office.

2.  Fill it in.

3. Take a letter from the DWP, stating that you are in receipt of income support.. It has to be dated within the last 3 months of applying for the discount.

4. Take 2 passport photos.

5. Go to the post office and they will issue you with the discount card and photo.

6.  To use the new card, go to any underground station and ask them to activate it.

You can then get half price fares for buses.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes to all.

There is no restrictions, you have to by one but its very cheap then you put money on it and you can use it on the tubes and the buses very easy to use. And yes anyone can use them in fact most people in London uses them because of the cost of the fares.

Oyster cards are continually valid. I've got one and just top it up when needed - as far as I know there's no expiry on them.

Does anyone know if they are valid for a certain time ? I was going to order one on line then realised it would be dated next Monday and I don`t go to London till 2nd July.
