"They say the trips are voluntary contributions......they're not.....if you don't pay and you usually do they chase you up for it."

Technically, if it's an educational trip then they can't force you to pay but they do usually chase you up. I have heard in some cases where they read out a list of names of those who haven't paid yet in school assembly.

have just paid out £35 for this term's clarinet lessons and £40 for the exam. £17 for Thorpe Park. waiting to hear where Jamie is going for his leaver's 'treat' and day out. his jumper is falling apart literally but there's no way I'm buying a new one for 5 weeks of school! will have to fork out for secondary uniform in a couple of weeks - that'll be £100 before we start with bags and shoes and trainers and calculator etc etc. Charlotte's school fete coming soon. Charlotte in school production of HSM, I'll have to go at least twice! getting ex to cough up is like getting blood out of a stone lol.

thanks Muffy, you've really cheered me up now!!

That this school term is starting to cost a bl**dy fortune.AND THEY'VE ONLY BEEN BACK A MATTER OF A COUPLE OF WEEKS

2 x victorian costumes for history day = £20 from ebay
2 x school trips = £16
2 x contributions to the school fete...buying stuff for the hampers they are going to sell.......£10
2x school class pics £20

Wouldn't mind if they went to grammar school but they don't !!!!

They say the trips are voluntary contributions......they're not.....if you don't pay and you usually do they chase you up for it.

Times are hard at the mo.....and whilst I am happy to help the school and further my childrens education with school trips......the history week costumes in the same term as all the trips are really stretching it.

Sorry moan over lol xx
