One of the girls guinea pigs was found dead in the run earlier this evening.

No visible sign of anything amiss......think it was just *one of those things*

Eldest is gutted though as she was the friendliest of the two we have. She has a pic of her in her room :0(

Will give her a couple of weeks and get her a couple more most likely.......
Once she's had the chance to get over this a bit.

Not had much luck cos we lost the Giant Rabbit on Boxing day. Beginning to wonder if we're jinxed !!!!!!!

This is par for the course, Muffy. Guinea pigs and rabbits are lost so easily. We lost a few when the children were smaller and as sad as it is the children do get over it fairly quickly. Hope the girls aren't too upset.

If you do get another one Muffy , maybe you could re-home one that has been abandoned ?

Edit to say I hope your daughter isn't sad for to long : (

Amanda we rescued this pair from the local *petting* farm.

Their mum was pregnant when she came in as a rescue and we *booked* the babies AND the mum to adopt.....sadly Mum didn't make it and nor did two of the other babies :0(

We have a MASSIVE run where they live....we could probably house about 10 xs more than we do......but we settled for the two......which looking back was a mistake.

I'll contact the rescue people and see if we can get more......

I think I'm more upset than the girls Sue lol.....though Eldest has gone very quiet she's had enough experience to know that these thing happen from time to time.......Harriet was as lively as anything yesterday though !!!!!

Ta Broggy.........just feels a bit too close to the rabbit passing really........ I always blame myself even though I know I have no cause to !! :0(

Sorry to hear about your Guinea pig.
Grandson had 2 Guinea pigs here, kept in the same indoor cage, when they weren't out in their run.
One day, one was unusually quiet, but otherwise OK. Took him to the vet. ,but he didn't make it through the night. It all happened so quick.
Other one is still going and is nearly 8.

I'm the one who will miss her most, I think.

Aw that's such a shame Gwyn.

I don't think they have much of an immune system really do they?

Harriet was bombing around the run without a care in the world yesterday......can't think what could've caused it !!!!! xx

aw I hate it when the kids pets die. It's so sad but it does help them understand the life and death process. Thats partly why we let our kids have puddy cats.
Love to you and the girls dare I send a little (hug). Not a big sloppy one!Tricia xx
